Our favorite online vintage shop, The House of Findings, will be doing its first-ever Fashionably Late show at the Liberty Hotel tomorrow!
And also, it’s free!
The fashion show, aptly titled “The Decades: For the Love of Vintage,” will feature 15 looks ranging from the 1920s to 1980s. Models will strut down an elevated, rotunda catwalk at the historic hotel wearing trends from each decade and showcasing the variety of one-of-a-kind pieces that are signature of the The House of Findings online boutique.
The House of Findings is the brain-child of Mayra Gonzalez and Biorn Maybury-Lewis that celebrates creative, sustainable fashion committed to multicultural values. Launched in 2012, the boutique (and traveling pop-up shop) is a “collection of collections”; a loving assortment of finds accumulated by Gonzalez and Maybury-Lewis during their frequent travels around the world.
The fashion show doesn’t start until 10pm, but early birds can enjoy a cocktail or two (or three!) while checking out The House of Findings’ pristine vintage wares and perusing the pop-up shop for some quick retail therapy.
With DJ Michael Savant spinning out tunes before the show, you’ll be wondering why all of your previous Thursdays were spent watching re-runs of Firefly when you could have been watching models rip the runway in glamorous clothes. I mean, haven’t you always wanted to live the glamorous life that Fergie lives in that song “Glamorous”? Because of all the glamour? Well, now you can. And, unlike the Fergie song, if you ain’t got no money, you don’t have to take your broke a*s home! Because it’s free! So if you want to see some seriously impressive limited edition clothing and/or you are ballin’ on a budget? This is the show for you!
